The Giant or
White-lipped Green Tree Frog is Australia's largest frog. It is found
only in the northern part of Queensland from Townsville to Cape York. It
is common in coastal lowlands, especially paperbarks swamps and can be found to
an altitude of 600 meters. Often found in suburban areas, it is a friendly
lovely frog and a welcome resident to most homes in the tropical north of
Australia. They love living on banana trees and often get shipped south with the
fruit. It is refreshing to see them now being flown home by Qantas when found in
banana shipments.
Size: To 140 mm
