Rainforest wildlife tour Port Douglas Daintree Australia.

David: Many thanks for your tour last Thursday. We found it very calming to walk slowly in your lovely piece of rainforest and get close to the animals and birds. It was the highlight of the things we did around Port Douglas and was the key to our feeling much more relaxed coming back today than when we left Sydney.

My wife Lucia and I had the best day of our trip to the Cairns area when we met David Armbrust for a personalized tour of the rainforest. David's knowledge (through his relaxed demeanour) gave us a wonderful perspective of the relationship of the animals, birds and plants dependent upon the same.

Having a great sense of humour (in his own way) coupled with an outstanding picnic lunch prepared (in advance) by David's wife Diane, added an uniqueness to our day we did not expect.

The exclusivity of the tour should be experienced by all

Every once in a while we come across local experiences that are so exceptional, so engaging and so rewarding that they positively glow amongst our most treasured memories. This day with David is just such a time. It is a fresh new perspective that will change your view of the rainforest forever.

It's rare to be able to point to one day in a vacation that is so completely delightful and meaningful as the one we spent with you on your tour.  The time we spent with you and your animals at your private nature refuge is one we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Being able to explore the rainforest and truly interact with the animals who live there was a special treat both for us and our 8 year old daughter. Your choice of limiting the tour groups to no more than four people provides a chance to experience the rainforest in a way no one else can match. There's not a hint of the commercialism that taints many tours.

We'll certainly recommend your tour to anyone who will listen.  It's a must for anyone with an interest in nature.

I have lived  my life mostly in Africa, surrounded by wild animals, but always apart from them. I have always wondered how Adam felt in the Garden. Now you have answered my question, and shown us all that it is not only possible, but essential that we stop waging war on our friends.

I do most sincerely recommend that all who have a love for animals should spend a day with you and see for themselves.

Thank you,

Thanks for the highlight of my visit to Australia. It was a most memorable day. One I thoroughly enjoyed and will always bring smiles when I think about it, except for the leech paranoia. Oh,... I guess I smile at that also, when I remember how we all reacted every time we would see one.

The interaction with the animals was such a neat and unique experience. And the way they reacted to you was a delight to see. I was very envious and wanted so much to ask if I could also feed them but, realised that they needed that from YOU only. You were the reason we could be so close to these wonderful creatures of the wild, and I thank you for that.

All the places we visited that day were so breathtakingly beautiful or thoroughly interesting, such as the termite mounds. I could have never imagined those, if I hadn't seen them. I regret I didn't take a picture of them.

Those of us who have taken the opportunity to share time with you are very fortunate indeed.  We have to come away with a much greater appreciation and respect of protecting our natural surroundings.

We also must come away with full tummies, thanks to the good fixing's ( U.S. southerner's word) prepared by your wife. Please let her know how much I liked her potato salad, especially.

Again, Thanks so much for the "Unique Rainforest Wildlife Experience".

Sandi and I have now returned from our three week trip to Australia and New Zealand, having had wonderful experiences, including "making it to the top".

However, in reviewing our memories we still think that a highlight was our day with you!  I still laugh at having asked you whether we would see a pademelon, and then having the opportunity for an "up close and personal" visit with so many of them, including Heidi.  You have a rare relationship with your "friends" and we thank you for having shared them with us.

We have highly recommended a day with you to our travel agent, but we have cautioned her to make certain that these are real animal lovers who will appreciate the trust which you have established with your friends.

If you receive any inquiries from Americans about your "Safari", please feel free to refer them to us.

David,

We sincerely thank you for conducting the tour that was the highlight of our Australia vacation.  It was our last day and you took the four of us on an unforgettable adventure.  You are incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and botany of the rainforest and outback.  The trust and respect you have achieved with your animal friends is truly rare.  They trust you implicitly and you truly respect them and their surroundings.  For me, my favourite part was the stroll through the rainforest.  I thoroughly enjoyed the animals as they came to check us out, as they scampered about, and came to be fed by you.  I SO wanted to feed and/or pet one, but I knew that was not the right thing to do.  However, I shared this vicariously through you.  Please tell them all “hi” – especially C.B. (*smile*).  I found it interesting that when you told Phoebe and the others to stay out of the old growth forest (and Heidi’s territory), they actually did as you asked!!  We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to spend the day with you and your friends at your home.  Please tell Diane that we enjoyed her cooking - that was one of our best meals we had while in Australia (certainly the one with the most ambiance!)  I could have stayed a lot longer.

We will highly recommend your tour to everyone who we know will respect and appreciate the work you have done and continue to do.  Thanks so much for such a memorable and unique day.

We wish you all the best,

Dear David and Diane,

We are home now reflecting on our wonderful trip to Australia and New Zealand and all the exciting places we went (not the least of which was our wonderful day with you and all your friends) and people we met. Our day with you was the highlight of our trip. We saw more wildlife and interesting forest with you than we did on the rest of our trip. Being so close to all the Pademelons and birds was just not available anywhere else.

The fact that there were only three of us versus the large groups we travelled with made it possible to see things large groups couldn't. Your knowledge of the animals and plants in your area is fabulous. We have told so many people about our experience with you and have given your name to some friends of our friends. They are from England and probably will book sometime in February or March. Thanks again for such a wondrous experience.

Diane, your food was wonderful. We appreciate your hard work.

Thanks again,

Gail and Steve Ritzwoller, Houston, Texas 77096.
