Stinging Tree
Dendrocnide moroides

This is a dangerous plant.
Physical contact with it should be
avoided. The stems and leaves are coated with
fine hairs which when imbedded in the skin cause severe pain and irritation for
prolonged periods.
Interesting site with information on
Nettles and Stinging Trees etc: http://www.bio.davidson.edu/people/kabernd/seminar/2001/home/mad/
