The Saw-shelled Turtle is found in
coastal streams and rivers from Cape York Peninsula in Queensland to Northern
New South Wales. They feed on fish. aquatic insects, frogs, tadpoles and are apparently one of the few natives species that can eat the introduced poisonous Cane
Toad.
