Green Ringtail Possum
(with young)
Pseudochirops archeri

A fine banding of black, yellow and white on
the hairs of this very beautiful possum gives a distinctive lime-green colour to
the thick soft fur.
The female has two teats in the pouch but normally gives
birth to a solitary young. This arboreal ringtail does not have a den and sleeps
during the day curled into a tight ball on a branch amongst foliage.
The diet
consists almost entirely of leaves. Ripe figs are the only known fruit eaten.
