Starling
Aplonis metallica

Metallic Starling feeding on the
fruits of the Alexandria Palm.
The Metallic Starling is
Australia's only native Starling. It is mainly a lowland rainforest dweller and
is found from Cape York to Southern Queensland and sometimes straggles as far
south as Sydney. They are communal nest builders with breeding colonies
numbering in the thousands. They are fruit eaters and are very important seed
disperses.
