A beautifully patterned gecko that remains motionless throughout
the day totally confident of its camouflage. The Northern Leaf Tailed Gecko is
found on lower Cape York Peninsula with isolated populations along the eastern
coast and ranges to the central coast of NSW. This photo was taken at Thylogale
Nature Refuge where it is beautifully camouflaged on the trunk of an Evodia (Euodia elleryana)
which is the host tree for the Ulysses Butterfly.
