
Perhaps Australia's best known and
loved bird the
Kookaburra nests in hollows in trees or tunnels into arboreal termite mounds.
They feed on small birds, snakes, lizards, rodents, various insects and other
invertebrates. Young from previous years help to raise their siblings by
providing up to about 60% of the food.

400-450 mm.

termite mound or hollow trunk or tree branch.

Up to four, white,
rounded, about 46x36 mm.
