The Freshwater Snake is semi-aquatic and almost always found in
close proximity to streams, swamps and billabongs. They feed mainly on frogs. Reputedly
one of the few creatures capable of swallowing the infamous cane Toad (Bufo
marinus) and surviving the experience. It is active both day and night and is
non-venomous. Like a lot of Australian snakes it has many colour variants. It is
Oviparous (egg-laying)
